Cougars Girls Information

Season schedules are out...

You can find your team's schedule by going to: schedule.  Look under Castle Rock/Parker Cougars, and then your team.

Note that games at the Rangers home field will be at Palmer Ridge High School in Monument, rather than at the location shown on the schedule.

Your coaches will be asking for a "Field Monitor" for all games, and a timer/scorer for home games.  Please help out when you can.

First games on April 3rd (Updated April 1, 2010)

Castle Rock and Parker girls will be combined this year under the Cougars, so all Castle Rock and Parker girls please sign up here when the link is up and running.

We have 5 teams again this year, a combined 3rd and 4th team, and 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th.  All teams have coaches, but most could use an assistant or a team parent.  Please contact the head coach to volunteer and see what you can do to help out.

The coaches' names for each respective team are on there respective team pages.

Looking for Cougars Girls Admin and CGLA Delegate...

I'm looking for someone to take over the Cougar's girls administrative role with the club.  Please contact me if you're interested in helping or taking over.  I will organize things if there's no one interested, but would prefer to start turning over the duties to someone else.  Please send me an email, or give me a call if you or someone you know would like to pitch in.

Separately, even though I've filled both roles for the last few years, the club needs a "delegate" to represent the club with CGLA, the Colorado Girls Lacrosse Association.  CGLA sets the schedules, arranges for officials at the games, plans and offers clinics for playing, coaching, and parents.  Having a separate delegate reduces the workload for the club admin, and brings additional ideas into the club.  So, please let me know if you're interested.  The time commitment is about 4 evening meetings throughout the year, and communicating what's going on at CGLA back to the club and parents.

Season details...

The first games will be the first Saturday in April, and run through the weekend before Memorial Day.  That last weekend is a league wide tournament where all teams will get three games on either Saturday or Sunday, depending on the age group.  Games can be at any time on Saturday, and will be at either our home site (probably Sagewood Middle School, in Parker) or at another team's field, anywhere from Colorado Springs to several different Denver, Boulder, or Golden locations.

Practices will be at fields either in Castle Rock or Parker, depending on coach's preference and field availability.  Usually there will be two practices each week after school.

No experience is necessary, so all are welcome.

Required equipment are a stick ($30-$80), googles ($60-$100), and a non-clear mouth guard ($5).  I recommend the player have cleats (soccer cleats are fine - $20-$30) as well as women's lacrosse gloves ($30).

Registration fee this year is $160, plus US Lacrosse membership.  (You can sign up on the registration pages.)  That includes a uniform and all other fees, except US Lax membership.
